The 'Lift'

This was going to be the starting sequence in your final opening, and this was a practice of it. But in the end we didn't get around to filming it. Because of unfortunate timing of trips our whole group wasn't free at the same time as the owner of the building that we wanted to film in.

Similar Titles

· District 13- This Film is about an undercover cop and an ex-criminal to try to infiltrate a gang in order to defuse a bomb. Our Film is similar to this because it is action packed and like the film, our project builds suspense in the beginning and makes the audience want to see more. We got the chase scene idea from this film, we also wanted to make it as action-packed as possible for our audience.

· Hitman- The film’s story is very similar to our story. Like the film, our film is also about an assassin who was on a ‘mission’ to kill his target. Like in the beginning of the Hitman film, our project also builds suspense and doesn’t tell anything about the story which makes the audience want to watch and find out more of. For our project we wanted to have the idea to make our main characters mysterious. But at the same time we also wanted to give our audience a little clue for who they are and what and why is the situation happening.

· Batman Begins- The story of the film does not relate to our project, but the way the film shot their opening scenes are quite similar to our opening scene. Like in the film, they shoot their opening scene very darkly, cruel and mysteriously. In this film, there is a chase scene between batman and the villian. Throughout the chase, they had to go through certain obstacles that made it hard for batman to catch up to his nemesis. Similiar to our project, we wanted our chase scene to be action-packed and filled with thrills for our audience to enjoy and make them thinkand ask questions such as; "is he going to catch up to him?"

· Salt- This film is about a CGI agent who goes on a run and gets accused for being a Russian Mafia. The key target of the film is, to create suspense from the beginning to the end. They produce this by making every scene as action packed as possible. Like in our project, a key character gets assassinated and creates chaos. We wanted to a similiar story idea from this film to our project. But at the same time, we also made sure that we dont reveal to much information, which makes our audience want to watch more.

· The Expendables- In this film, everything and everyone is lead on to something, including the audience. In the beginning the film does not tell or give out any clues of what the main story is. Similar to our project we want to succeed this by making our opening as clueless and at the same time action-packed so that it appeals to our audience and makes them want
to watch more. We got the idea of making our action-packed scenes to tell the story rather than telling it with a voice-over to leave questions to the audience's minds but at the same time they are thrilled with all the hustle and exiting situations that hits them throughout.

· Rush Hour- This film is about two cops who combined together to try and stop a gang, stealing from the government. This film is an action-based film which relates to our project but at the same time this film has a sub genre; comedy. Like at the opening of our film, We have a chase scene as our first scene. We have two main characters chasing another main character where the audience will find who he is later on in the film. Like the film, our film has two genres. The main genre which is action and the sub genre which is Comedy. But we also wanted to make sure that our film should be what an action film should be originally like.

What We Learnt From Our Initial Ideas

· Lighting- In the clip we noticed that there was a sudden lighting change.
· Camera Angles- In the first scene, we notice that there wasn’t as many camera angles as we would have wanted. We believe that one camera angle is dull and very boring.
· Title Credits- We thought that we should think about where we would put the title credits in the shots.
· Main Character=Unknown- We came up with the idea that our main character should be remain unknown because it is a thriller and our purpose is to create tension.
· Shot in the Elevator- We also learnt that we should have had a shot in the elevator showing the main character and his victim.
· Show the building- We should have also had an establishing shot of the building in the beginning.
· CCTV shot- We also came up with the idea that there could be a CCTV shot of the main character walking in the building, pass the reception to the elevator.
· Crosscutting- There should be a cross cutting between the main character and the victim while they were walking towards the elevator.
· Unwanted extras- We should make sure that we would not have anything or anyone unwanted in our shots in the background.

Location Shots

This could be another possible place where Kane would be chased, this is quite good as we can have different angled shots from in front, behind, side and top of where the chase will be.

This shot could be where the chase will run past, this is the side view.We could also get a high angle shot of the chase as the wall across has a rooftop which is available for our use.

This is where Kane will be jumping from rooftops to get away from the guard.

This is where Kane will jump on the rooftop and tease the guard,we could use the rooftops as a good place to get high angled shots.
This shot could be where kane gets chased by the security guard, this is quite a good shot as we can see most of the road behind.
This could another scenario where Kane will be chased down the stairs and then will burst back past the guard to get away from him.
Or we could have the guard trying to chase him but as he has no skill in Parkour, he will have to rely on pedestrian walkways to chase him, as Kane used the buildings to his advantage.

This tower is a good place to get an establishing shot of the main area where the free running will take place.

This is an establishing shot of the Tower and the area behind, the tower could be used in the video as a place where Kane runs up the stairs and then could get caught but this is very unlikely.
